Musician in Residence

Fixed Term Contract from 1 September 2020 to 31 August 2021 (with accommodation provided on campus)

Gordonstoun is seeking an enthusiastic and talented Musician in Residence to join the Music Department. The Musician in Residence will bring a range of musical skills to the school and the Head of Music will seek to build aspects of the position around the skills that the successful candidate possesses. The postholder will work across the whole age range, spending equal time in both the junior and senior schools; he/she will be involved in the unique Gordonstoun Junior Music Curriculum and take part in appropriate ensembles in the senior school. Some individual instrumental/singing/music technology/theory lessons will form part of the duties, as appropriate to the individual skills of the successful candidate. The successful candidate will be resident in the school: accommodation and all meals are provided.

Junior School Assistants (Fixed Term Contract from 1 September 2020 to 31 August 2021 with accommodation provided for the post holder)

The Junior School Assistants play a key role in the care and welfare of the boarders and day pupils at the Junior School. He/she is likely to have some experience of working with children and be able to organise activities for them, using their initiative. The post holder would show a high level of care for the children, be able to relate to them and uphold high expectations of the school’s values, behaviour and attitude. The position would particularly suit someone applying for a teaching degree or PGDE course and who is looking for experience. The ability to coach sports such as rugby, hockey, netball, tennis, athletics, swimming would be an advantage. The Junior School Assistants will be required to register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and meet all conditions connected with this.

Sports Coaches for Hockey/Netball - Fixed term from 1 September 2020 to 31 August 2021

The Sports Coaches will be fully involved in the coaching of netball and/or hockey at all levels in the senior and junior schools as experience and opportunity permits. We welcome applications at this level:

  • Hockey (UKCC Level 2 qualified with umpiring experience and qualification)
  • Netball (UKCC Level 2 qualified with umpiring experience and qualification)

Qualifications and experience in any other additional sport is an advantage due to changing sports dependent on given term. The post holder will also be involved in the PE classroom programme and sports administration. This post reports into the Sport & Activities Co-ordinator for all aspects of his/her work apart from pastoral and general duties. For suitable candidates, there is also an opportunity to be a Tutor working some evenings in a House (with additional pay).. More.....

School Receptionist

We are seeking a School Receptionist to provide a comprehensive reception and mail service. The post is all year round, part-time & job-share working 0830hrs to 1245hrs Monday to Friday and alternate Saturdays (during term time only) from 830hrs to 1300hrs. Applicants should have a confident telephone manner, experience in the use of Microsoft office packages, the ability to work on own initiative, be highly reliable, methodical and trustworthy. Reporting into the Principal’s PA, you will also be passionate about education and enjoy upholding the ethos of the school.
