Gordonstoun International Summer School
There are two courses for the GISS Summer School in 2020 and applicants must be available for all the dates as follows;
Course I: *Wednesday 8 July 2020 to Monday 3 August 2020
Course II: *Wednesday 15 July 2020 to Monday 10 August 2020
* Staff are required to be here two days before the students arrive on the Friday of each course.
EAL (English as an Additional Language) Teacher for Gordonstoun International Summer School (GISS) Fixed Term Contract
This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Teacher at a prestigious and well-established Summer School for children aged 8-16 from approximately 35 nationalities. English Literature & Creative Writing Teacher for GISS - Fixed Term Contract
The English department is a critical academic course for the Summer School with classes and activities timetabled into the evening and weekends. The age range of the students is 8-16, classes sizes are approximately 6-8 students and are streamed by ability. The Teacher will plan and manage high quality lessons ensuring students are kept engaged and motivated. Outside of the classroom activities, this role is also expected to participate in supporting and managing other activities which are part of the summer school, for example taking trips or supervising a recreational activity on site... Sports Coaches for Hockey/Netball - Fixed term from 1 September 2020 to 31 August 2021
The Sports Coaches will be fully involved in the coaching of netball and/or hockey at all levels in the senior and junior schools as experience and opportunity permits. We welcome applications at this level:
- Hockey (UKCC Level 2 qualified with umpiring experience and qualification)
- Netball (UKCC Level 2 qualified with umpiring experience and qualification)
Qualifications and experience in any other additional sport is an advantage due to changing sports dependent on given term. The post holder will also be involved in the PE classroom programme and sports administration. This post reports into the Sport & Activities Co-ordinator for all aspects of his/her work apart from pastoral and general duties. The Examination & Curricular Compliance Officer (ECCO) will support student achievement at Gordonstoun by managing all examinations and assessments. They will work closely with Admissions, the Junior School and Senior School together with other relevant colleagues and external bodies to deliver exemplary standards of compliance and efficiency. We have a team of highly trained, key members of staff available for every child or young person at the School. Their primary commitment is to support the wellbeing of children or young people in their care, ensuring that each child thrives and is supported to fulfil his or her potential. This is a key role in the Pastoral team who all work together to ensure the best possible, coordinated pastoral care is provided to children and young people.
The postholder will be required to provide a comprehensive, confidential administrative support service to the Pastoral Department and to the International Coordinator in respect of Round Square International Conferences; Incoming and Outgoing Student Exchanges and Overseas Projects
The post holder should have excellent IT skills including proficiency in all MS Office applications, excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills and a proven track record of strong working relationships with colleagues and external contacts. A positive and proactive attitude to manage a high volume of work is also essential as is being calm and flexible with a ‘can do’ approach.

Transport Driver (rota) - Closing Date 1700hrs on Sunday 16 February 2020. Interviews will be held w/b 17 February 2020.
The postholder is required to carry out the safe transportation of students, staff and visitors on behalf of Gordonstoun School. This includes the daily collection and delivery service locally for support staff and transporting day students to and from the School. Cleaning, inspecting and routine maintenance of the School vehicle is also involved and record keeping.. More...
Seasonal Second Mate (Female) - Fixed Term Contract - 9 March 2020 to 16 October 2020. The closing date is 1700hrs on Sunday 9 February 2020.
In line with the occupational requirements of the Equality Act 2010, only female applicants over the age of 21 can apply for this role. The Seasonal Second Mate is a key member of the Sail Training team and plays an important role in the delivery of the Sail Training programme at Gordonstoun. Work is usually on board Ocean Spirit of Moray Gordonstoun’s 80 foot Sail Training ketch and employment is on a fixed term contract for the whole of Ocean Spirit’s sailing season. More
