Assistant Housemistress - closing date Saturday 23 March 2019 at 1600hrs

The Assistant Housemistress (AHM) is a key member of the pastoral team, ensuring that girls are supported to achieve their full potential. Under the leadership of the Housemistress, she shares the pastoral responsibility for the well-being of students and the smooth running of the house. AHMs are an important part of the Gordonstoun community and are expected to be involved in an area of the school beyond the boarding house. We welcome applications from teachers of all subjects, and from graduates who can offer other skills such as sports coaching, the arts, or Outdoor Education.

Accommodation will be provided within the boarding house. In line with the occupational requirements of the Equality Act 2010, only female applicants over the age of 21 can apply for this role. More....

Swim Coach - closing date Friday 22 March 2019

Swimming has a key role in both the Gordonstoun Curriculum and Broader Curriculum and is very much seen as an essential life skill that our students should have. Swimming is available to our youngest students in year 2, right through to our year 13 students. Whether it be learning to swim or competing at an elite level, Gordonstoun aims to cater for all and provide opportunities for progression. The Swimming Coach is the central role in coordinating the swimming programme in partnership with the Sport and Activities Coordinator, both for the senior and junior schools. The post-holder must be a qualified Swim Teacher/Swim Coach and hold a Royal Life Saving Society Qualification (RLSS) and National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ). More...

Sports Coach - closing date Friday 12 April 2019

The Sports Coach will be fully involved in the coaching of many different sports at all levels in the Senior and Junior Schools as experience and opportunity permits. He/she will also be involved in the PE classroom programme and in sports administration. Junior School Assistant - closing date Wednesday 27 March 2019.

The Junior School Assistant would play a key role in the care and welfare of the boarders and day pupils at Aberlour House. The post holder is likely to have some experience of working with children and be able to organise activities for them, using their initiative. The post holder would show a high level of care for the children, be able to relate to them and uphold high expectations of the school’s values, behaviour and attitude. The position would particularly suit someone applying for a teaching degree or PGDE course and who is looking for experience. Head of Science - closing date Saturday 23 March 2019

Required for Autumn 2019, the Head of Science will be a sector expert and will promote academic and intellectual development across all disciplines; lead teachers in implementation of curriculum and instructional practices that result in exceptional student achievement and teaching and also be responsible for the day to day smooth running of the Science Department.

The post holder will be a member of the Heads of Department committee and expected to promote best practice in all areas of science. The Head of Science will predominantly manage the delivery of the Science Curriculum across Years 7 to 13 and provide support for the delivery of Science in the Junior School.

The Examinations and Curricular Compliance Officer (ECCO) will support student achievement at Gordonstoun by managing all public and internal examinations and assessments.
