The Theatre Technician is a key member of the IT services team supporting all technical needs in theatrical lighting and sound systems together with stage management, rigging and pyrotechnics. The post holder will have a minimum of three years technical experience in a similar environment and supporting educational programmes will be advantageous. S/he will be required to deliver multiple productions each term and be able to plan and deliver technical services for all these productions. A certificate in PAT testing is essential together with a recognised qualification at BTEC/HNC/HND level covering light and sound. The post holder will support the performing arts teams in a residential capacity and the ability to help train and run the student technical teams is also a key part of the role.

Applicants should be technical experts in their field including the use of multi-media/AV equipment and also demonstrate clear proven evidence of managing safety and risk in a theatrical environment.
