Outdoor education

It is a big world out there, full of exciting learning experiences. So we make the most of the stunning countryside Scotland has to offer to broaden our pupils’ skills, strengths and minds.

There are opportunities for outdoor experiences every week which introduce pupils to activities such as kayaking and bush craft. The highlight for every year group is a major expedition (or for the very youngest pupils, a series of day expeditions) in the summer term. Older pupils challenge themselves during multi-day canoeing expeditions and a weeklong wild camping trip to Cape Wrath on the North coast of Scotland.

These different and challenging environments help pupils pick up new knowledge and skills, while learning more about themselves and their classmates. Children have the opportunity to go climbing, hill walking, mountain biking, kayaking and sailing.

All expeditions and adventure activities are led or instructed by highly qualified and experienced staff. As a world leading school in outdoor education we take safety very seriously and set the highest possible standards within the outdoor and adventure activity sector.
