Gordonstoun student receives ‘Highly Commended’ in a prestigious competition run by Trinity College, Cambridge.

Noah A, who is an aspiring law student and solicitor, entered The Robert Walker Law Essay Prize and received a ‘Highly Commended’, which is reserved for the top 10% of entries.

The end of the summer term is always a busy time but for Noah A, in Year 12, the last week was especially busy.

Noah, who is an aspiring law student and solicitor, entered The Robert Walker Law Essay Prize which is a competition run by Trinity College, Cambridge. Having been mentored by Mrs Medina in the Extension group and supported by Mrs Taylor regarding legal terminology, Noah has done incredibly well and received a ‘Highly Commended’, which is reserved for the top 10% of entries.

This year's task was ‘What legal issues might arise from prohibiting the sale of tobacco products to anyone born after 2008?’ with judges commententing that Noah had “good use of legal and non-legal sources, and a strong analysis of the question through the rule of law prism”.

During the last week of term, accompanied by his father, Noah was invited to the awards ceremony at Trinity College, Cambridge. He, and the other prize winners, were treated to a whole day at Trinity College. He attended a guidance session for applying to study at The University of Cambridge, was given a tour of the college (including the Wren Library, with which he was especially enamoured), attended a lecture by Dr. Sampson (Law Fellow at Trinity College) and was presented with his award in the formal prize giving ceremony.

This was an incredible opportunity for Noah, who will be applying to Trinity College to study Law.
