Peter, born in Dumfries, read Geography at Edinburgh University and completed his PGCE at St Andrew’s College. He has 17 years of Headship and Executive leadership experience at Ardingly and Rugby School. Peter has served as a governor in several independent schools and since 2014, has expanded The Rugby School Group to include a further four schools in the UK, Thailand and Japan.

Peter has always had a deep interest in Hahnian education and a love of Scotland. He is joined at Gordonstoun by his wife, Brenda, with whom he has two grown-up children. Peter’s interests include church, rugby, football and music, in particular choral music.

Simon studied History at Cardiff University and worked in London before undertaking teacher training. He then taught History, became a Head of Department, Boarding Housemaster and Head of Boarding.

He coached Rugby and Cricket and plays sport to an average level! In 2016 Simon moved to Prior Park College in Bath as Deputy Head; in this role he has focused on challenging and supporting its students with a particular emphasis on them learning from both their success and failures.

Simon lives on campus with his wife Helen and their three children, who attend the Gordonstoun Prep School.

A graduate of Glasgow University, Cath has 20 years of junior school teaching experience and worked in private and state education before joining Gordonstoun. Her career has also seen her involved in sports coaching and drama direction as well as working within support for learning

Cath has been part of the Gordonstoun community for over fifteen years, initially supporting her husband as Housemaster of Duffus House, before joining the Prep School as a class teacher and, in 2020, being promoted to Assistant Head Pastoral. She and her husband Andrew have two children at Gordonstoun.

Pamela joined us in 2018 from her post as Head of Finance at the Mungo Foundation, a large Glasgow-based health and social care charity supporting vulnerable people.

A law graduate and a qualified accountant, Pamela has a wide range of finance and operational experience in education, the third sector and business.

She was previously Director of Finance at Kingsbury School in London and has also worked for Mary’s Meals, Vodafone, and Water Aid.

Jo is our Bursar as well as leading on our ‘out of school programmes’, including Gordonstoun International Summer School (GISS), and our Easter Active Revision programme. She is responsible for developing new out of school opportunities and an Enterprise Strategy for Gordonstoun. In addition, Jo manages our Travel and Transport teams, who support all movements on and off campus.

Jo previously worked for 20 years in local government across a number of different services, including ICT and Corporate policy. Jo has been a Gordonstoun parent for 6 years, has two children in the Senior School, and is deeply committed to Gordonstoun’s unique educational ethos.

As a trained Icelandic tour guide and mountain leader, Danielle is at home on our expeditions. Since joining Gordonstoun Danielle has become a member of the Fire Service as well as continuing to teach chemistry. She enjoys travel and photography and is a keen dancer. Danielle was previously Assistant Head at Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, prior to which she was Head of Chemistry at John Hampden Grammar School.

Born and bred in Northern Ireland, Aran studied International Relations at the University of Cambridge and then served for 27 years as a Royal Marine. In this time he was a Visiting Research Fellow at Oxford and also qualified as a teacher.

He and his family moved up to Gordonstoun in 2024. As a mountain leader with experience of expeditions worldwide, Aran is most at home in the hills. He is resultantly delighted to be back in Scotland where the outdoor opportunities are second to none.

Charlotte joined the pastoral leadership team in the Summer of 2022 from Asia where she was previously the Deputy Head (Pastoral and Boarding) of Fettes College in Guangzhou, China; after spending three years in Jeju-do, South Korea as a Senior Housemistress.

Charlotte teaches Art and Design, as well as ISC. She is also an active member of the Coastguards service at Gordonstoun; which she loves, along with Elvis Presley, Scotland, her family & Hugo the German shorthaired pointer.

Martin works as Assistant Head Boarding and came to Gordonstoun in 2019 after twelve years at The Royal Hospital School, Suffolk.

He has over fifteen years of pastoral and curriculum management experience in schools with ten years as a boarding Housemaster, and three years as Assistant Head.

Martin is married to Emily who is Assistant Head Pastoral in the Prep School and they have two teenage children, both of whom have attended Gordonstoun.

Emily has been teaching for over 25 years and has held leadership roles in prep schools for the last 15 years.

As a pastoral specialist, she loves to see children thrive over the course of their prep school journey. Here at Gordonstoun Prep School, she has served as Assistant Head Pastoral since 2021 and is also a Year 8 form tutor, teaching English and ISC.

She is married to Martin (Assistant Head Boarding in the Senior School) and is a parent to an OG and a current Windmill Lodge student.
