Teacher of Physical Education

Situated on the beautiful Moray Coast in the North of Scotland, Gordonstoun is widely recognised as the world leader in character education. We have a co-educational community of over 500 students aged from 6-18, who are predominantly full boarding and are drawn from over 40 countries.

We are looking for an inspirational teacher of Physical Education to join this thriving department who work across the junior and senior schools. You will be an outstanding classroom practitioner who is passionate about working with students who are eager to learn and challenge themselves. All candidates should be registered or eligible for registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland, as this is a condition of employment. The post would ideally suit an ambitious NQT or Probationer, or a more experienced teacher looking to work in a world-renowned school with exciting opportunities for personal and career development.

A wide variety of major sports are offered, including rugby, netball, hockey, football, tennis, squash, cricket and badminton. Our facilities include a state-of-the-art sports centre with an indoor climbing wall, swimming pool, a fully equipped strength and conditioning room and four squash courts. It also has classrooms for the delivery of academic PE. Outside there are multiple pitches, tennis courts, a full-sized floodlit Astroturf and a 400 metre running track.

Gordonstoun encourages all staff to engage in our wonderfully broad programme, and we are seeking someone who is keen to play an active role in the full life of this vibrant and busy boarding school. Our famed outdoor education programme also involves all staff in taking expeditions in to the Cairngorm mountains, and opportunities to sail on our 80-foot yacht, Ocean Spirit, are also available for staff, as well as being compulsory for all students.
