Year 9 Taster Weekend

We are holding our next Year 9 Taster Weekend on Friday 22 - Sunday 24 August 2025 (for 2026 and 2027 entry).

If you are interested in attending our Year 9 Taster Weekend, registration will open in the new year.

Our Year 9 Taster Weekend takes place at the end of the summer holidays, one or two years before a Year 9 entrant is due to join the School. It is open to those who have already decided to join us and to those who are keen to discover more about joining Gordonstoun in Year 9. There is no charge and no obligation for the future. Children can look forward to a wide range of activities which reflect the breadth of the Gordonstoun's world leading curriculum.

During the weekend, we will do a formal assessment of the children, to ensure they are well suited to Gordonstoun. It is also an excellent chance for prospective students to get to know each other and many friendships are forged during the weekend. For parents joining us, there will be a local outing, a presentation, dinner with the school leadership and pastoral staff and a tour of our campus.

The benefits for children who attend our Year 9 taster and progress to Gordonstoun Senior School are long lasting. Students find renewed vigour for their final year of Prep or Junior School and when they arrive at Gordonstoun a year later, they’ll know the layout of the School, recognise many staff and will have already made friends. They instantly feel part of the Gordonstoun family and will be prepared for five happy and fulfilling years in the School.
