Junior School Assistant
Fixed Contract - 25 August 2021 to 5 July 2022
Introduction
Situated on the beautiful Moray Coast in the North of Scotland, Gordonstoun is widely recognised as the world leader in character education. We have a co-educational community of over 500 students aged from 5-18, who are predominantly full boarding and are drawn from over 40 countries; the Junior School encompasses the children up to the age of 13.
The Postholder
We are looking for an inspiring individual who is keen to play an active role in boarding school life, whether assisting children in the classroom, on the games’ fields, during our expeditions in the mountains and the Moray Firth, or in one of our incredible drama productions.
You will be a calm and caring person, well organised and passionate about working with children who are eager to learn and challenge themselves. There is a real ‘joie de vivre’ in the Junior School and if you see yourself as part of that, we would love to hear from you.
Essential requirements
- Experience of working with school age students aged 5-13 and engaging them.
- Strong Highers or A Levels
- Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and meet all conditions connected with this.

Occupational Requirements in respect of Age:
As our students are aged up to 18 years, the School has set an age requirement for applicants for certain posts, where stated, to be aged over 21 years. This is in line with the occupational requirements of the Equality Act 2020.
Conditions:
The salary will be at an appropriate point on the Gordonstoun salary scale.
