Gordonstoun Prep School's Junior Highland Games donates to Moray Reach Out and Moray Riding for the Disabled

Each year the Gordonstoun Prep School Community nominates their charities for the year, with this year’s being Moray Reach Out and Moray Riding for the Disabled.

The Junior Highland Games was a resounding success, with primary schools, sport, music and competition from across the region, as well as local stalls. Both charities took the opportunity to spread the word of how they help in our local community. Such was the enjoyment of the event that Moray Reach Out said “As the day unfolded, it became evident that the spirit of generosity knows no bounds. The generosity of spirit extended not only to the charities being honoured but also to the numerous stallholders, visitors, and supporters who contributed to the cause. Together, they created an atmosphere of warmth and inclusivity that left a lasting impression on all who attended.”

The fundraising was a huge success and each of the charities nominated received £2,300 for their causes.

On Friday 27 September Gordonstoun Prep were delighted to welcome both charities back to Gordonstoun for a special cheque presentation. Gordonstoun Prep pupils, staff and representatives from The Junior Highland Games Committee enjoyed hearing an update on the important work of the two charities, how the money will be used and about the benefits of supporting our local communities. As Moray Reach Out added “The cheque presentation ceremony was a wonderful opportunity to meet with the students, teachers, and parents at Gordonstoun. Representing Moray Reach Out at the event were John Rose, Vice Chair, and Megan Fairley, who were both thrilled to attend and receive the cheque on behalf of the charity. It was a truly heartwarming moment as we joined other local charities to celebrate the spirit of giving and community involvement. The Junior Highland Games not only raised vital funds but also helped raise awareness about the important work we do at Moray Reach Out.”

Gordonstoun Prep School and The Junior Highland Games Committee look forward to working with the charities again.
