Young Enterprise

by Richard Cavaye (Head of Business, Economics & Enterprise)

Gordonstoun has made a great impact on the Young Enterprise campaign this year with two of our teams winning coveted funds in the 'Dragons Den' event in October. In addition, one of them, Stoun Socks, have made it into the National Finals to take place on 1 June. Stoun Socks are the only Young Enterprise from the Highlands & Islands area to make it this far.

Stoun Socks are a Young Enterprise Company made up of Lukas Ehrlich, Leo Schrader, Roshan Mandal, Claus van Oranje and Tobia Ceccato and their business idea is to make and sell socks with a Gordonstoun theme and an ethical vision, their first design being the notable Scottish Breakfast that is served each morning in the refectory.

Stoun Socks stands for diversity and equality according to our motto “No compromises, No excuses!” said Lukas, Managing Director. “Through colourful designs, we combine tradition with modernity and pay special attention to environmental protection and workers' rights”.
